PILGRIM

The concept of creating this building came from my idea to show Canterbury in black & white through negatives. The design of my building is based on the characteristics and functions of a camera. By which I mean, that during day light hours the building's interior lighting appears quiet and dim. While at night the space inside is very bright. These opposites in exterior & interior lighting show the function of a pin-hole camera. The windows of the building work as a negative film does creating Canterbury in negative images. Some windows will be adjusted to work as and create reflections as a camera film strip does (ex. sepia, negative etc.) The Guest Host area is designed in such a way that provides a wide range of optical views of the outside area.
